About Our Trails

OPTA warm up shelterOntario has the world's largest inter-connected snowmobile trail system (34,262 km/21,289 mi). The trail system is composed of the OFSC Trans Ontario Provincial (TOP) Trails (16,402 km/10,191 mi) plus regional and club trails (almost 17,860 km/11,097 mi). TOP Trails link most snowbelt communities, tourism regions and regional trail systems. OFSC club trails such as ours feed into the TOP Trail system, providing local links to a host of other communities, services and amenities, events and attractions. OPTA maintains 150km of the TransOntario Provincial (TOP) trail network, and approximately 150km of local trails. Visit the OFSC for a high detail, interactive trail map.

Trail Notes: Former L703 trail has been decommissioned. Slush has been encountered by our groomers and other snowmobiles on some of the lake trails. These frozen tracks are very rough. Trail L701 (Hudson Loop) is especially bad since 104 sleds were over the trail for our Poker Derby. Use extreme caution..

Trail Maintenance and Grooming Equipment

Our small groomer is a 2012 Arctic Cat Bearcat XT with a 10 feet long by 52 inches wide drag . It is a multiblade groomer similar to the large groomer but in a smaller version. This combination will allow us to start grooming the trails as soon as we have enough snow and ice (about 6 inches of ice needed on the lakes).

Our medium groomer is a 1997 Trail Boss 110.

Our main groomer is a Holland tractor TS110 with a four way blade and full brush guards, this groomer is quick, handle well and is fuel efficient. If you visit Ebert Welding for additional info on our large groomer.
